Introduction

What is Scorpion?

Scorpion at its core is a collection of features that can be used in combination with a DS1. It works for all vehicles that DS1 supports, which means Audi S6, S7, RS6, RS7, A8, A8L, S8, TTRS, RS3, R8. The core concepts of Scorpion is that it’s a modular system that allows you to pick and choose which features you want to use, with full customizability. At a deeper level, Scorpion can be broken into multiple parts.

Build System

Scorpion has its own build system that allows custom features to be built using a configuration file. The build system runs on our servers for IP reasons. This is the settings that you modify. These “features” are what we call apps. There are 2 types of apps, “Calibration Apps” and “Custom Apps”.

Calibration Apps

Calibration apps are simpler apps that modify the tables and values in the bin using the vehicle XDF. This is all the stuff you can change yourself in TunerPro. Scorpion supports these to add convenience.

Some of the calibration apps include:

  • Cat Heating
  • DTC Off
  • RPM Limits
  • Half Engine Mode

Custom Apps

Custom apps are significantly more complex. They are custom features that are programmed by us in-house and are thus not available from any other source. They require much more testing and have a significant development overhead. Everytime you generate a configuration file we automatically generate a tailor made binary for your vehicle with just the features and settings you have requested.

Some of the custom apps include:

  • Antilag
  • Launch Control
  • Flames
  • Traction Control
  • Guardian

Web Patching Closed Beta

Access Web Patching

Web patching is a feature where our tuners can patch binaries on the web without the need for the vehicle to be in front of them. The vehicle has to be registered in the system and have a valid license. After that they can upload a binary and a configuration file and within seconds they can download the patched binary with all the features and settings applied.

Web Patching Interface

Desktop CLI Beta

Download CLI

This is for advanced users only. It’s a CLI that allows you to either patch binaries or flash Scorpion features straight to RAM of the vehicle. This is not graphical application. It uses the raw JSON config file. If you don’t know what JSON is or what a CLI is, this is probably not for you. It runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.

Desktop CLI

Desktop Application Coming Soon

The desktop application is the interface that you use to configure the Scorpion features. It’s a graphical application that allows you to view and modify the configuration file at your convenience. It runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.

Mobile Application Coming Soon

The mobile application is the interface that you use to configure the Scorpion features. It connects to the DS1 over WiFi and allows you to view and modify the configuration file at your convenience. It runs on Android and iOS.

Licensing

When you purchase a DS1 and a Scorpion license, they will be tied to your VIN number. This means that the license is specific to your vehicle. You can use it as much as you like after that and all future updates will be free. In this license you get the mobile application and the desktop CLI. Tuners will also have the option to patch binaries on your behalf.

Safety

While Scorpion has a lot of built in safety features and validations. It’s still a very complex product with tons of control in the users hands. We can not be held responsible for any damage caused by Scorpion. Use common sense and don’t do stupid things. We have tried to make the defaults as reasonable as possible to fit as many users as possible. We have also built in a lot of safety into the system, about 1kb of the binary is dedicated to safety checks. Invalid configurations can cause damage your vehicle, just like if you modified the wrong tables in TunerPro. If you have ANY questions about how something works, contact us first. We are more than happy to assist.

Scorpion is a creation by Albin Corén.

It would not have been possible without the fantastic work made by DynoSpectrum. This is a direct result of their “Sabre” feature.
