Short Term Fuel Trim

The short term fuel trim (STFT) Guardian monitor is used to monitor the fuel trim values in the ECU. This is useful for detecting issues with the fueling system, such as vacuum leaks, faulty injectors, or other fuel delivery problems. The STFT will be at most 25% in either direction.

Configuration

Enabled

Whether or not the STFT Guardian monitor is enabled.

Limp

Whether or not the vehicle will enter limp mode when the STFT Guardian monitor triggers.

Min Relative Load

The minimum relative load that the engine must be under for the STFT Guardian monitor to trigger.

Min Time

The minimum time in milliseconds that the STFT must be outside the trigger values to actually trigger the Guardian monitor. This is to prevent false triggering due to momentary spikes in fuel trim. If set to 0 it will trigger immediately.

Trigger Rich

The trigger settings for when the vehicle goes rich.

Enabled

Whether or not the rich STFT trigger is enabled.

Value

The trigger value for detecting rich conditions. This is the threshold at which the monitor will trigger when the STFT becomes more positive than this value.

Trigger Lean

The trigger settings for when the vehicle goes lean.

Enabled

Whether or not the lean STFT trigger is enabled.

Value

The trigger value for detecting lean conditions. This is the threshold at which the monitor will trigger when the STFT becomes more negative than this value.
